Wonderful beaches, iconic restaurants, art and history: the Amalfi Coast<\/strong> is celebrated worldwide for so many reasons! It is a very popular jet-set destination and has been an attraction to upper-class Europeans since the 18th century when it was a frequent stopover on their Grand Tours.<\/p>\n

The Amalfi Coast was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997<\/strong> and it includes13 towns and villages with their own beaches, dotted between secluded coves and towering cliffs.<\/p>\n

The Amalfi Coast is known for its production of limoncello<\/strong> liqueur, made from lemon (known as sfusato amalfitano<\/em> in Italian) grown in terraced gardens along the entire coastline between February and October. You can rent a car or take a bus: depending on the section of the route, SITA buses run every hour or two. Here are the unmissable top three towns to visit on the Amalfi Coast, but we suggest you see more than that!<\/p>\n

Positano<\/strong> \u2013 With its flower-draped pastel houses tumbling down the steep hillside to the beach, Positano is among the best memories of every tourist coming by. Quite expensive, it\u2019s worth the price! It is the ideal destination for couples looking for a romantic getaway, but also for families stopping through for a day trip.<\/p>\n

Amalfi<\/strong> – It lies at the mouth of a deep ravine, at the foot of Monte Cerreto (1,315 metres, 4,314 feet), surrounded by dramatic cliffs and coastal scenery. The town of Amalfi was the capital of the maritime republic known as the Duchy of Amalfi, an important trading power in the Mediterranean between 839 and around 1200. Enjoy its beautiful beaches and the famous Paper Museum, take ice cream and go for a walk in one of the most loved places in the world. And think about a boat tour, while you\u2019re there!<\/p>\n

Ravello<\/strong> \u2013 With its Duomo, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, Ravello is one of the most iconic cities in the world.
